The Blackhorse Village Players strives to provide high-quality live theatre to Caledon and the surrounding area while fostering artistic excellence, community engagement, and lifelong learning in the performing arts.
In addition to producing compelling theatrical experiences, The Blackhorse Village Players is committed to providing meaningful educational opportunities and hands-on experience for individuals pursuing post-secondary studies or careers in the performing and technical arts. Through mentorship, workshops, and practical production involvement, we support emerging actors, directors, stage managers, designers, and technicians as they develop their craft.
What We Offer Our Community:
Members have opportunities to develop skills in: Set construction and scenic design, Lighting design and operation, Sound design and technical operation, Costume design and wardrobe management, Props creation and stage crew support
In addition to technical roles, members are encouraged to participate in performance and leadership capacities, including Acting and, Stage management. These opportunities allow participants to build confidence, collaboration skills, and professional discipline while contributing meaningfully to each production.
Recognizing that theatre is both an art form and a community enterprise, we also provide opportunities for members to gain experience in: Marketing and promotional strategy, Social media management and content creation, Front-of-house operations, Participants gain valuable, transferable skills in communications, branding, teamwork, and nonprofit administration.
